What the Executive Does

The Executive, or Government, controls:

• Correctional authorities, which –
  • run community corrections programs
  • supervise and allocate work to offenders serving orders in the community
  • run prisons
  • control the movements of people in prisons.
• Parole Boards, which –
  • make decisions about an offender's eligibility for parole
  • supervise people who are on parole.
