Youth Supervision Order

A Youth Supervision Order is like an adult community based order. It requires young people aged between 10 and 18 to undertake supervised community work. The maximum period of a Youth Supervision Order is one year, or if the offence is punishable by imprisonment of more than 10 years the maximum that can be given is 18 months.

The law relating to a Youth Supervision Order is contained in sections 387-395 of the Children, Youth and Families Act 2005.
