Annual Report 2005-06 Tabled
The Sentencing Advisory Council tabled its 2005-06 Annual Report in Parliament this week.
The report outlines the Council's achievements and activities over the past 12 months, which include:
- 'You be the Judge' program
- online Sentencing Monitoring launched
- recommendations on repeat drink driving and suspended sentences
- publication of statistics on sentencing trends for serious offences
- research on understanding public opinion on sentencing.
