Sentencing in the Children’s Court & How the Children’s Court Could Sentence You

Date of Publication:
6 July 2017

Our two brochures explain how the Children's Court decides what happens to children who have been found guilty of breaking the law.

Sentencing in the Children’s Court is written for people who are supporting children attending the Children’s Court, as well as students, youth justice workers, journalists and other interested members of the community.

How the Children’s Court Could Sentence You is a simpler version, intended to be read by (or to) children attending the Children’s Court.

Based on material in A Quick Guide to Sentencing, these two-page brochures are companion publications to How Courts Sentence Adult Offenders.

Please note: this brochure reflects the law as at 6 July 2017.
