This consultation paper canvases potential reforms to improve the sentencing of occupational heath and safety (OHS) offences in Victoria.
It poses 19 consultation questions to investigate issues such as the effectiveness and enforcement of sentences for OHS offences and the involvement of victims and their families in sentencing proceedings. The main findings of the paper are encapsulated in the accompanying plain language summary.
To facilitate community feedback, we also published a statistical report on sentencing outcomes for OHS offences in the 16 years to 30 June 2021.
The Council has published the public submissions received in response to the consultation paper.
