Statistics for Specific Offences

You can find sentencing outcomes for specific offences using our award-winning SACStat online database of statistics  and our long-running Sentencing Snapshots series.

Sentencing Advisory Council Statistics Online (SACStat)

SACStat includes statistics for nearly 200 different offences sentenced in the County and Supreme Courts of Victoria between 1 July 2011 and 30 June 2016 and nearly 500 different offences sentenced in the Magistrates' Court of Victoria between 1 July 2013 and 30 June 2016.

Our How to Use SACStat page explains how to locate a specific offence using the online database.

Sentencing Snapshots

The Sentencing Snapshot series includes data for 31 offences heard in the County and Supreme Courts of Victoria. Published since 2005, Sentencing Snapshots cover a five-year period for each offence. Offences are updated every two years. Previously, Sentencing Snapshots included offences heard in the Magistrates' Court. The Council has since made its Magistrates’ Court sentencing data available on SACStat.

You can explore Sentencing Snapshots using Snapshots by date or Snapshots by offence, or you can browse the complete Sentencing Snapshot series.
