In this report, the Council analysed trends for offences of possession or use of small quantities of illicit drugs sentenced in the Magistrates’ Court from 1 July 2007 to 30 June 2017. The Council sought to identify shifts in the drug types minor drug offenders used, the sentences minor drug offenders received and the sorts of offences sentenced in cases alongside minor drug offences.
We have also prepared a factsheet summarising the key findings of the report.
