We have today launched an upgraded version of SACStat, our online, freely available sentencing statistics database. The updated SACStat brings a host of new features including:
- a redesigned user interface
- the addition of dedicated federal sentencing data
- maximum penalty information for all offences.
SACStat is also now available via a dedicated domain at www.sacstat.vic.gov.au (the old version will continue to be available for a short time before traffic is redirected).
SACStat now includes sentencing data for around 60 federal offences heard in the Magistrates’ Court and expanded sentencing data for federal offences heard in the higher courts. With the addition of these offences, SACStat now contains the most comprehensive, publicly available federal sentencing data in the country.
The update reflects our commitment to ensuring that SACStat remains a vital resource for legal professionals, academics, policymakers and the general public.
You can access the new SACStat at www.sacstat.vic.gov.au.
