We’re excited to announce that our new Virtual You Be the Judge is now live.
Virtual You Be the Judge has been completely redeveloped as a highly interactive online experience. It gives the user the opportunity to step into the role of a judge and experience the complexities involved in sentencing. It is especially suited to high school students, university students and the general community.
Each case is based on a real case sentenced in Victoria. Users learn about the offence and the person being sentenced. They consider the factors a judge must take into account and decide what sentence they would impose. They then discover the sentence handed down in the real case.
The new platform features three case studies from across Victoria’s courts:
- a murder case in the Supreme Court
- a serious assault case in the County Koori Court and
- a drink driving case in the Magistrates’ Court.
