Sentencing Children and Young People in Victoria considers the operation, functions and philosophy of the Criminal Division of the Children’s Court. It presents a statistical profile of offences sentenced in the court, and identifies and analyses changes over a ten-year period (2000 to 2009 inclusive). The report also contains data on children and young people (under 18 years of age at the time of offending) who are sentenced in the higher courts, and it discusses Victoria’s ‘dual track’ system.
A transcript of the launch speech delivered by Judge Paul Grant, then President of the Children's Court, is also available on this website.
